Scottish Bagpiping Services
Maybole is a town in South West Scotland, 80km south of Glasgow on the main A77 Stranraer trunk route. It has a population of 5000 with satellite villages in close proximity, from that population the band has 27 members. Maybole Pipe Bands successful formula has not changed much over the years, we play first and foremost to entertain and compete as a means to maintain standards.
The band is a traditional Bagpipe and Drum Band using the bagpipes, snare drums, tenor drums and bass drum to provide the traditional entertainment that is associated with Scottish bagpipe bands. The members are of varying ages, 13 - 70 and have varying amounts of experience. Some members have played for over 40 years whilst our newest recruits are on their first year. The band comprises of male and female players, drummers and pipers.
We pride ourselves in the fact that we wear a full military style piping uniform that is missing from so many bands and pipers these days. How often have you seen the piper dressed the same as the guests?
The Tartan we wear is a Red McPherson. For solo piping we also wear the feather bonnet. You will agree that this is the way all Scottish pipers are portrayed and the way they are expected to turn out, your guests will be grateful for the ideal photo opportunity with a real Scottish piper.
We are available to play the bagpipes for you wherever and whenever you require, at whatever event you have in mind. Let me give you some examples;

Our repertoire includes a wide selection of traditional Scottish bagpiping tunes that include Marches of differing tempos, Strathspeys, Reels, Hornpipes, Jigs and Slow Airs. Given time and access to the music we can learn the tune you require for your big day.
Traveling isn't a problem either, we've never been lost yet. Apart from playing in our home locality and sometimes in England,
we have traveled overseas to continental Europe; Canary Isles, Belgium, France, Germany,
Iceland, Poland, Spain, Sicily and also to the Middle East, U.A.E.
